This silver ring features a pretty blue sapphire in 18K Gold Vermeil. This blue sapphire has not been heated or treated and shows the gems soft natural color and the beauty of imperfections created by mother nature.

*Gold Vermeil is a type of gold plating and is usually considered more desirable than typical gold plating because the gold is layered over sterling silver instead of a base metal like brass or nickel and the layer is much thicker.  To be considered vermeil the layer must be at least 2.5 microns.
